The world around us has changed and is still changing. Digitization is an important part of this. Where we used to find it normal to send a letter and wait a day (or longer) before it was read, we are now annoyed when an email does not arrive within 10 seconds. In the past 17 years, OTYS has played an important role in digitizing recruitment processes of our clients. BEING HUMAN OTYS has created a large number of tools for its customers, so that they are able to do their work as efficiently as possible. The fact that deliberately delayed sending of...

Some time ago, together with SOLV Advocaten, we organized the webinar 'GDPR for recruiters. What are the consequences?'. We received a lot of questions prior to and after the webinar about what the GDPR law is all about and how OTYS will deal with this. We used these questions as a guideline to write a whitepaper which answers these questions as complete as possible: 'GDPR in the recruitment sector. A complete guide.'. Whitepaper 'GDPR in the recruitment sector. A complete guide'. If you are working with personal data, then the GDPR definitely applies to you. The whitepaper gives you an overview of the consequences of the...

As you may have already read in our whitepaper 'GDPR in the recruitment industry’, there are a number of important issues when you run a (recruitment) website. In this blog post, I will discuss the consequences of the GDPR for tracking your website traffic with Google Analytics, for example. Since the introduction of the Cookie Act a few years ago, there has been a lot of confusion about whether or not you need to ask permission for placing cookies. How is it then, for some you do and for others you don't? Confusion reigns supreme, partly encouraged by the government, which...

Perhaps you are already convinced of the benefits of an SSL certificate after reading Part 1 (safety, reliability and SEO) and Part 2 (the fight of Google and Firefox against unsafe websites), but we would like to give you another reason to secure your website. Yes, there is another reason to switch to HTTPS. It is not directly related to safety, but to measurability. For many modern companies, especially in the recruitment industry, the website is an important tool. A tool for recruiting candidates and clients, branding, telling your story, engaging customers, as a platform for your marketing campaigns, etc. How...

At the end of last year, I wrote a blog post about the benefits and urgency of properly securing your website. Meanwhile, the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers have taken further steps to identify unsafe websites and, especially, to make it clear to the visitor that the website in question does not handle their data securely.

A question that we frequently get at OTYS. We are happy to provide you with answers in this article. First a brief explanation: A website is secured by means of an SSL certificate. This certificate encrypts all data on your website, including all data that is entered and sent through forms. Personal details and passwords that are entered in, for example, application forms are thus unreadable for external (malicious) parties. If your website is secured with an SSL certificate, the browser displays this as HTTPS. This replaces the standard HTTP before your website address. Browsers such as Chrome and Firefox also show...
